Anonymous asked: I've been looking through your list tag and saw your video in which you show your sketchbook and I was wondering what all the notes you wrote next to the pictures in it mean? like, are you supposed to write them or do you write them because you like it? also what's the name of the of sketchbook? your art is very amazing. Thank you very much X
aw well thank you :) erm for my A-Level my teacher liked us to annotate everything we put into our book; if it was my work i wrote about what i was trying to achieve, whether or not it was successful, what materials i used and stuff; ifit was someone else’s work, wrote about what i liked about it, the techniques/materials they used, how i could use the skills in my own work etc. i do love making sketchbooks and i did a lot of work in my A-Level ones.
oh also, when i did artist studies, we had to write an essay about the artist, using this content/form/process/mood sheet we’re given.
i’m not too sure what you mean when you say the ‘name’ of my sketchbook, but my exam questions was ‘inside, outside, in between’. and the actual make of the book is Seawhite of Brighton :)
hope this isn’t too ramble-y and is helpful! X
This is Agafia Lykov. Agafia has been living in Siberia’s taiga (Sayan mountains) her entire life. She is now 70 years old. Her, her parents and her older siblings lived untouched by outside communications for 40 years, until found by a group of Russian geologists in 1978. Agafia also has also cared for Yerofei, an amputee’d geologist for the past 16 years. Her story is incredible. I just finished a VICE documentary on her, which you can view here. I highly recommend it.
Reading, watching, learning about Agafia has only solidified my insoluble desire to live as one in the wild, although perhaps somewhere not as extreme as Siberia, ha ha.
